Podarium is a native client for a self-hosted Podarium podcast server. Your subscriptions, audio, and listening history live on the server you choose — not on any server operated by the developer, who never receives them. The app makes no third-party connections and includes no tracking, advertising, or analytics.
Short Version
- Your podcast library lives on your own self-hosted Podarium server. The developer operates no service that holds your data and receives none of it.
- The app talks only to the server address you enter — nothing else. Even podcast publishers are contacted by your server, never by this app.
- Your sign-in token is stored securely on this device, in the iOS Keychain.
- No tracking, no advertising, no analytics SDKs.
How Podarium Works
Podarium is a client, not a service. You sign in with the address of a Podarium server and an account on that server. The server subscribes to your shows, downloads the audio, and serves it to the app — so podcast publishers, ad networks, and directories see your server's one address, never your phone. For a self-hosted instance, the operator is you or your household. The developer operates no central service and has no access to your data.
Information Stored on Your Device
- Sign-in token — a bearer token for your server, stored in the iOS Keychain so you stay signed in. It is removed when you sign out.
- Server address — the address of the Podarium server you connect to.
- Saved episodes — audio you choose to keep for offline playback is stored on the device and removed when you delete it or the app.
Listening Data
Playback positions, queue, starred episodes, bookmarks, and listening statistics are stored on your server, where they power resume and your own statistics screens. They are never shared with publishers or any third party.
Network Connections
The app connects only to the Podarium server address you provide. It makes no other outbound connections and includes no third-party SDKs. All fetching of feeds, audio, and artwork from the outside world is done by your server, on your behalf.
What We Do Not Do
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your data.
- No developer-operated account or server that holds your data.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because your library lives on your Podarium server, it is retained and deleted there by that server's operator. Signing out clears the stored token from this device, and deleting the app removes its local data, including saved episodes. To delete your account or history, use your Podarium server directly, or ask its administrator.
Children
Podarium is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
