Connects to Your Own Servers

ProxDash connects straight to Proxmox VE, Proxmox Backup Server, and Proxmox Datacenter Manager โ€” in any mix โ€” plus Portainer for containers. It talks directly to the servers you add: no proxy, no account, no cloud. Learn more โ†’

What do I need to use ProxDash?โ–ถ
Any Proxmox server the app can reach: a Proxmox VE cluster or node, a Backup Server, or a Datacenter Manager โ€” in any mix. If you run PDM, one connection brings in every remote it manages. Optionally, a Portainer for the Docker guests you want to manage.
How do I connect to my servers?โ–ถ
Add each server under Settings. The app checks the certificate first and shows its fingerprint โ€” compare it with the one the server shows under Certificates and confirm. Then sign in with an account on that server: ProxDash has it create an API token under that account and keeps only the token; your password is used once and never stored. Accounts with two-factor authentication are asked for their code. You can also paste a token you made yourself in the server's Access Control.
View-only or full control?โ–ถ
Your choice at sign-in: Auditor grants a view-only token, Administrator grants control. A token can never do more than the account behind it, so a plain Auditor account always stays view-only. Control actions in the app sit behind a separate switch, and every action is logged.
Why does the app ask for local-network access?โ–ถ
Because your Proxmox servers usually live on your local network. iOS requires permission for an app to talk to LAN addresses โ€” ProxDash uses it for nothing else.
How do Face ID and the app lock work?โ–ถ
Turn on the lock in Settings and ProxDash asks the system to confirm it's you before opening, and before confirming actions on your fleet. The app never sees biometric data โ€” iOS only answers yes or no.
How do notifications work?โ–ถ
Alerts โ€” unreachable remotes, nodes offline, storage forecast to fill, failed or stale backups, unhealthy containers, newer images โ€” come from a ProxDash server you run, delivered through Apple's push service only once you turn them on. Allow notifications when prompted (or enable them for ProxDash in iOS Settings).
What does the widget show, and what syncs through iCloud?โ–ถ
The Home Screen widget shows your fleet summary from the app's own data. Your card layout can sync between your devices through your own iCloud account โ€” nothing else leaves the device, and the developer never sees it.
How do I back up or move my settings?โ–ถ
Export a settings file from Settings. It contains your connections and their tokens so it can restore them โ€” keep it somewhere private. Import it on a new device to pick up where you left off.
How do I remove a server or reset the app?โ–ถ
Remove a server under Settings to delete its address and token from the device; the token also appears in that server's own Access Control, where you can revoke it. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
